Lingering Warmth
The slower I go, the behinder I get. I know, that's NOT the way the old saying goes! But it IS what applies here! The photo shows my Thanksgiving decorated fireplace, which is now, today, decorated for Christmas. I just haven't snapped a photo yet. Maybe later. Or tomorrow. Or Friday. I am learning, still, how to let God be who He is and get myselfishness (yes, all one word) out of the picture! I can't focus on how I want everything and everyone to be nearly perfect. It's exhausting and people get grumpy. Today should be interesting, as I am dying for a mocha and have vowed to not make one and savor it as if it was pure gold or something to be worshipped! I want to confidently rely on the loving-kindness and mercy of God!

HI friend!! I love your lingering warm fireplace! I am taking all the poor sad Thanksgiving finery off the mantle today and putting up the Nativity. My boy is suffering from a cold so I have a bit more time to play with decorating today. I've been thinking of you lately. BIG HUGS, Jenny
@ABAHM - Hi Jenny! I have a teeny Nativity on the mantle. My decorating is a bit quirky this year; I also have 2 penguins up there, but I think it all "works"! Give that boy a get well hug from me! I really wish we could do the Winterfest with you!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely looking room, very cozy and warm. I imagine your Christmas decorating looks every bit as nice as your Thanksgiving does here.
Your fire looks warm and cozy.......just what I need on this very snowy day.
So.. I'm curious about the power mocha's have over you?
looks like a wonderful place to sit and relax!
Looks quite peaceful.
Just stopping by to say hi. It's been a while.
@Lucy_or_Ethel - @oldfatgramma - It is a very warm and cozy room! Right now, the sun spills in through the windows and the doggies are curled up on the rug in the sunspots, enjoying their naps. Later, there'll be a fire in the fireplace, cider will be simmering on the stove and upside down apple pecan pie will be coming out of the oven. I WISH you all could come over!
@georgene - Heehee! The "power" is that my tastebuds adore the combined flavor of the Hershey's cocoa, splash of fresh ground Italian roast coffee, 1% milk and sugar. That excitement on the tastebuds sends a message to my brain that says "Happy, Happy, Happy"!!!
@floridayankees - Oh, it definately is a nice place to relax. I like to make it warm and inviting but not too fluffy, since we do have different decorating tastes. The guys wouldn't want cabbage rose print fabric or leopard print throw pillows. Hubby can't tolerate many candles or fresh flowers. So, this is the comprimise. ( 8
@IfWallsCouldTalk21 - It's definately been awhile!!! I've wondered how you've been! Really and truly.

@down_onthefarm - You're so cute! Definately a cup of mocha, in the little squirrel mug I bought at Starbucks!!!
