This is a little something I have sitting on a shelf. I love little old books and funky ribbon and flowers. Just simple things to pop a little bit of happy into my day. There are people in my life who pop alot of happy into my day. And there are those who don't. But they're there for a reason. My Dad told me twice that we're here to suffer. I actually, fully believed him. Then I realized by studying what's written in the Bible that we also have reasons to rejoice in life, and it's my personal job to look for the rejoicing moments. I do know that now, he'd agree with that. But, SHEESH, the work it takes to undo a difficult, heart wrenching belief! Today, as I work through a challenging thing in my heart, I am mulling over a verse in Colossians...Put on compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness and patience, bearing with one another, forgiving one another....I will take off that icky robe of selfish impatience and aggravation and put on the robe of the sweetness of Jesus and pop alot of happy into someone else's life.

I love your old books and the flower and ribbon.
So pretty!
Love that arrangement and your heart for putting on the sweet robe of Jesus (our preacher always says there are two times to act like Jesus----when you feel like it and when you don't) Love you Gail and all the happy you bring into my life!!!
@appalolly - Thank you, Audrey! ( 8
@mellibella - ((( * * ))) That's a RAELLY big hug. I lOve what your preacher says!
Your books, ribbon, and flowers put some happy into my day! It is good to put on those beautiful robes through Jesus! Blessed by you friend...hope you are coming out again this year! hugs.
@mellibella - I too love what your preacher said
@ABAHM - Oh, my Jenny, I miss you so much! Just last night I was thanking God for your whole family and for the wonderfully special time we had with you last year! We really do want to come back over but don't know right now how to make that happen! Boo hoo! But God knows when and how.
Thanks for this. Just the reminder I need.
Love this post. Love the happy you bring to your blog and to the rest of us when we read it!
well, YOU just popped a little bit of happy into my day.
along w/ alot of truth. i was thinking of that verse recently in col. too. so good. AND so convicting!!
i like the little bits of happy that you have around your house...so creative, and your pictures are wonderful! what a cool reminder to see little pieces of happy and be reminded of moments of happy. such a great reminder that sometimes i'm so prone to selfishness...interestingly enough i did a bible study last year on the 7 deadly sins (and while i don't believe they are any WORSE then other sin - sin is sin) it was fascinating to see that they were all excess of something and all selfish based. it really cut me to the core to see that in me. so glad for God's grace and His work in our lives!!!
@TrentTribe - Yay! ( : We all do, at least once a day, I think!
@oldfatgramma - Aw, I think you just gave me a hug! Thank you! ( 8
@grace2be - I'm so glad!!! Yep, those verses do make us feel convicted, although I don't like to feel convicted as if I'm a prisoner. But definately need the Spirit to send a power jolt through me! 0 8
@mytoesareblue - I can totally relate to the "cut me to the core" feeling; happens all the time to me. Also, I agree...sin is sin. And God's grace sees me in a much better light than I see myself, which I am SO very thankful for!!!
you've popped alot of happy in my day! many times. in more ways than one.
and funny thing i've noticed about those "put on" scriptures. they always have a "put off" part!
like there is only so much room. and self has got to go!
love ya!
@down_onthefarm - ..."...they always have a 'put off' part"!!!!! SO painfully but necessarily true! Um, did I spell necessarily right? I rely on my feeble, shrinking brain to supply the ordered letters for my words. Spell check...where is that button? Anyway, thanks Doll, for your sweetness! ( 8
The picture above is amazing. I love it. I love old books - what a fun ribbon as well. Thanks for popping a bit of happy in my day.
Oh...you are always popping happy into my days when you post!
Love the picture.
Hope you are having a good week.
Love this! I was just thinking earlier when mulling over some of the junk that's happened recently, "ok, it's time to get my Jesus on!" (meaning do what Jesus would do) LOL Love the pic!
