  • May I go BACK to Bed?

    DSC_0967edit

Some days I just need to do nothing. This is one of them. You know how it is, right? I’d like to go back to this spot where it’s peaceful, there’s a lake, a waterfall, awesome rock formations, trees and such changing colors, a patch of sand to lay a blanket on, blue sky with whisps of white…Oh boy, I see what time it is and need to get my face on. I just hope a certain person isn’t disappointed in me for giving her so few addresses for her jewelry party she wants me to host. Why can’t I just SAY NO???

  • Lovely description of the peaceful spot!  I kept rolling over and snoozing this morning…fighting David’s cold.  But the sun is out, before the rain tomorrow.  Wondering if you will get snow?

  • Such a beautiful place of renewal~

Do I need to do throw practice saying no questions at you, we could do this for daily therapy!

    (((hug)))

  • Hello there!! I just realized that while friending you, I never actually subscribed. DUH…this isn’t facebook. So now I will see updates from you. And what??? You cannot say no??? It’s rather easy. Small word but hard to use. Hope you don’t over do it saying “yes” too many times. Hope you are doing well otherwise, and your family too.

  • @ABAHM - Oh dear, I hope you can shake that cold quickly! We’re thinking it’ll be too warm for it to snow. I need clear weather for the wedding I’m shooting on Saturday! Please pray for that! Thank you!!!

  • @WildWomanOfTheWest - Yes! That’s exactly what I need! Along with the hugs, that is. Then I think I’d recover from this ailment sooner rather than later! A gigantic hug back to you!

  • @MadraysGarden - Silly Girl! (just kiddin’) Soooo, this saying NO thing is something I was trained as a child to NOT do. Which is why it’s STILL hard for me to say no when I need to. The result is, exhaustion and frustration and ultimately depression, blah, blah, blah blippity blah. I truly hope to slow down a bit this month and get ready for a nice, stress-free Christmas.

  • I have the blessing of health issues that keep me from saying “yes”. I now say, “if it’s a good day, I will. If it’s a bad day, I won’t be able to”. One day at a time for me. Learn to say no before you have no other choice but to say no. Love ya!!

  • I’m sad for you (always) that you have those health issues. But, that is a great response for when I need to say NO. My only issues are the painful visits from Arthur Itis, but that’s in only 3 places. The other issue is stress and feeling my heart over-pump, but that’s been 2 or 3 weeks ago when things were nuts around here in my little life. ( 8

  • Once you start saying No, it will get easier and easier…{this coming from someone who just closed out a tastefully simple party when all I really wanted to do was order a jar of garlic, garlic from the lady.}
I inherited the  “Can’t say No” gene from my Mom…all of us girls have it.
I am starting to think all women have this gene though. ;)

What a lovely place, that rock with pretty colors.
I say you can go back to bed…but since it’s getting near bedtime, I think you should just stay in bed tomorrow morning! =)

{{Hugs}} to you on this wanting to just go back to bed day. =)

  • @Elizabethmarie_1 - Guess what, dear Girly? I am going to stay in bed and luxuriate in the fact that I really don’t HAVE to do anything for anyone other than the people I really want to! And you may be right about those genes….so, I guess in a way, we’re related!

  • I’ve had a week of mornings where I wished I could just stay in bed. Normally Saturday is my day to sleep in (until 7:30 or 8) but I have something planned with my mom that morning. Maybe I’ll choose tomorrow. Hope your day went better as it got going.

  • @georgene - I hope you do get to sleep IN! Am I remembering right that you’re taking care of your parents?

  • @Richgem - I help Mom when she needs it but I (we) are living as caregivers for a 91 year old lady.

  • @georgene - Oh, ok! Wow, that’s a challenge right there. I have a friend who does caregiving, more like daycare for the elderly. You must have an awesome heart. ( :

  • Nope! My heart was a mess this week! Thankfully Christ’s righteousness is credited to my account! How are you feeling these days?

  • @georgene - That’s a great way to put it! I’m feeling pretty well. I just have to stay tuned in to what my body is doing, inside and out. Had some dandy stress recently and 2 episodes scared me (heart), but I seem fine now. With all of my exercising, I’ve managed to pull my shoulder and irritate my knee and one toe has burning pain. But, considering what so many other people suffer with, I am blessed. I hope you’re okay with all of your caregiving, etc.

  • I had to smile (I shouldn’t have!) because I’m experiencing the same problems with my exercise. I started (by God’s grace alone!) to exercise seriously a few months ago. My foot has been giving me problems ever since. Ugh! I just keep pushing through because I feel better and my blood work came back so much better. I guess this old bod doesn’t like to be pushed anymore. TOO BAD I SAY!

  • @georgene - I love it “I guess this old bod doesn’t like to be pushed anymore.”! Neither does mine! Like you, I say TOO BAD! We’re doin’ this! So carefully and surely, I’ll keep at it and see the positive results…they already make up for the pain. I’m excited for you that your blood work is better. That’s a motivator, for sure!

  • for some reason nancy reagan popped into my head!
she had some ideas for just saying no…was it about jewelry parties?
    i’m trying to remember.

your peaceful spot sounds perfect. hope that you can enjoy it soon.
say no to______ and yes! to peace.
and btw. your comment made my day.
i could feel the love. thanks. and big love back!

  • very good post! Why is it so hard to say no……But It is easy to say  no to ourselves.I decided 3 months ago to take charge of My life .and things have never been better with everything!

  • @down_onthefarm - I will say YES to peace! That’s exactly what I’ve needed! And you’re so funny! Nancy Reagan?!  ( :  As for the peaceful spot: friends of ours showed us another one. We were going to go there today, but the weather is iffy and hubby is sooo tired (that darn disease!). But when we get back up there, this time with my beloved Nikon, I will be able to share the beauty of that spot!

  • @homesteadtessie - Do you tend to be a people pleaser and are really sensitive to other’s feelings? That’s why it’s so hard for me to say no! But, I’m going to have to take care of myself. So, like my friend Cindy said, say Yes to peace!
