  • It’s Today and I’m So sLeEpY!

How do you “begin” your week? WHEN does your new week begin? Sunday or Monday? Which is your favorite day of the week? I’ve been thinking of that alot lately. I suppose my new week begins on Monday but I don’t go to work. So, it only feels like Monday because most of the neighbors go to work, and most of the kids go to school and one dadgum neighbor dog begins the week with the most irritating screech bark that awakens me at about 7:30, which is a delightful time to get up for most people. NOT for me, as I am not a normal sleeper. After my heart settled down this morning, I decided the screeching was a blessing in disguise and I could just go ahead and begin the Monday, the new week. (and forgive my neighbor for having such a horrid sounding dog…I do love dogs.)

Tuesday is usually a good day, providing decent sleep has held me for several hours. It’s my favorite day of the week now. The ‘hood is quieter and one more person has gone to work and I feel that I can go out into my yard and breathe. Do any of the people in your life make you feel like you’re being stifled? I have to quietly say, “Jesus, help me breathe. Give me your strength.” And then I wait. Wait on him. In this one situation in which I’m stifled, I’ve been WAITING on him to change something for YEARS. I won’t give up. Because of HIM, I’m stronger, not so terribly stifled. There is hope!
I haven’t mentioned something on here that has affected my ever lovin’ feeling heart. “It” makes me cry. “It” makes me see even more clearly that God is in control and His love covers all pain. His comforting arms have to “do” because I am too far to comfort. Maybe that is just okay, as it allows for more maturing, more dependence on HIM. Everybody has to go through SoMeThiNg, right? Just pray please. ‘Cuz I’m really feeling “it” today.
Moving right along…hubby and I continue to go on walks as long as we feel up to it. Walking is a sanity saver and we feel both worn out and refreshed afterwards. Kilo loves going, too, but he horrified us when he waited to leave his business right in the middle of a path. It was an unusually messy one and we had nothing to scoop it up with! We probably should should bring a little shovel and bucket next time. Good Grief, Charlie Brown!
Last night I made Corn Puddin’ for dinner, plus hubby had chili. Tonight will be ham steak and baked potatoes stuffed with cheese and broccoli. I hope I can control myself with the cheese!
Our weather is feeling like Fall and my head keeps saying that certain foods would taste divine right now. My stomach would agree. My discipline says NO! What a battle! Well, I better get going…my cilantro plant needs to be trimmed. It has grown beautifully and I need to clip a bunch and share it with cilantro lovers!

  • I am not sure when my week ends or starts since I don’t work outside of the home anymore Jeff has strange days off he will have the next two days off so I guess it will be our weekend

I don’t sleep well at night so I clean house I do the quiet stuff like dust and pick up

  • I think Sunday is my favorite.  I purposely do less and rest in the afternoon.  If it is my week to go to church, then I just soak it in, and if I stay home I will often listen to a sermon on line.
Praying for you my dear.  Don’t like the idea of you crying, though I know the Lord will work good when it is Him you are running to.  Much love.

  • Oh, and the BLUE of the lake is always so stunning in your pics!

  • so sorry about the situation that leaves you breathless.. i understand. and it’s so hard when it’s been that way for years. when it seems there is no change on the horizon. i pray God will just give you some extra oxygen of His grace this week with it all~

my week seems to officially start on monday too. sunday seems like the last day of the week to me.. to unwind and rest and get ready for another crazy week! so, i think sunday would be my favorite day. my neighborhood is pretty quiet too during the week. i think every single person, except a few older people, work. i love walking out in my yard without feeling a dozen eyes are staring back. :) i’m sure they’re really not, but i always feel like it!

such pretty pictures. i’d love to walk along some of those paths with you someday! :)

hope your heart is feeling more encouraged and the tears have dried up. you are so loved!

  • @SisterMae - So, that way, you can say that the Dust Fairy came for a visit, right? ( 8   I used to think about cleaning at night…so many people seem to do that. But, for some reason I just chose to lay in bed instead!

  • @ABAHM - It sounds like Sunday is a good day for you, in spite of whatever happens. I, too, listen to sermons online…Andrew Farley.  Purposely doing less,,,I like that. We’ve been that way, too, pretty much.  I’m glad you like my lake photos. I do boost the color just a teensy weensy bit…not too much, because then it’s just unreal. Then, you might as well go full on artsy.  I do feel better this evening after some reassurances. Thank you so much for caring. I can hear your voice and feel your hug.

  • @WildWomanOfTheWest - You’re a sweetheart, Cowgirl! I’ve been praying for you…prayed several times through the night. Thank you for the special mini; gifts! I do feel the love.

  • @grace_to_be - ..”extra oxygen of his grace…”  wow.  Awesome! My tears have dried and I have received reassurance and comfort. That helps tremendously. I hope to get over this wobbliness and to accept that things are the way they are and these are the things I CANNOT change.    As for those eyes staring back (in the neighborhood)…oooo yeah, they ARE there, at least in MY neighborhood! Sometimes, I just want to hang a gigantic curtain all around my yard.  I’d LOVE it if you could walk my lake paths with me someday…your photos would be stunning! And we’d have a great time visiting!

  • Good Morning, Gail

Due to my family’s business and having a management career, my week starts on Monday even though I have been retired for 17 years. My vest day is still Saturday for the same reasons.

I had my first heart attack at age 40. I asked God to change my attitude about eating and exercises. I dropped from 224 to 165 and have been able to maintain the weight due to God. I started jogging and did 5 miles a day for a long time until my heel/bone disease stopped me. i switched to walking 4 miles a day. In recent years, my back has failed me so i do less of that, but I walk my dog daily and do all the shopping. I think I reached a reasonably healthy 79 due to God, Norma’s healthy cooking, and daily exercise.

    Blessings,

    frank

  • It’s too bad I’m not close enough to share your cilantro! :D I’d like to be in on that.

Monday is the new week to me, although you could say it’s Sunday since there’s church and all of that.

  • Monday is usually the start of my week, well Sunday might be.  I guess Sunday for me is just an ‘extra’ day not ‘designated’ to the week since it’s a restful day.  I’d say either Tuesday or Thursday is my favorite day.  They’re usually easier fun days for me since I get to do bible club those days.
Hope you’re doing and feeling better about ‘It’.  I think satan tries his best to get us down as best as he can but God’s in control and has everything in his plan.

  • where do you live?

    hey, nice to meet you.

I start my week anyday I want to now. lol

  • Just wanted to stop by and say HELLO and see what you are up to! I’m sorry you’re not always sleeping well! Not fun! I do see God’s grace blessing you and guiding you.. PTL!

I start my ‘new week’ on Mondays which I try to make my House Blessing Day (as Flylady says).

  • @jillcarmel - I love that you can start your day any day you want to! I live in the middle of Arizona at 5200 feet. Alot of people who don’t know AZ are surprised when they come to our town and discover the beauty and charm. They thought AZ was all Phoenix and Grand Canyon. It’s much more than that!

  • @redladybug18 - Enjoy your “restful” day! I’m doing better, thank you! Time passing helps, along with wise words from friends! ( 8

  • @Richgem - yes, it’s a small state. My son was stationed in Sierra Vista(Fort Hauchucha)in the 1990′s and it was a nice town. My sister has a cabin in Prescott and I have a sister in Scotsdale and a niece in Prescott.

You can drive in Texas for 8hours and still be in Texas lol I live south of Fort Worth in the country

I can also start my day over anytime I want to -if it’s not going well. lol

  • @jillcarmel - OMG!!! WE live in Prescott! My sister lives in Scottsdale. My 2 younger kids are near Temple, TX. You are so right about traveling through TX. I thought we’d never get to where we were going and was glad hubby and I chose to fly home after taking the kids to their college!!!  You’re clever…starting your day over anytime you want to!!!  Happy SUnday night and have a great Monday!

  • I know what you mean about waiting on God.  It’s so hard sometimes.  I’ve prayed for years for a certain son in law to accept the Lord, but it looks like my daughter is going to have to go ahead with a divorce.

Speaking of cheese…..we had something called Fall to your knees macaroni and cheese at the wedding rehearsal dinner we went to.  It was yummy.  When I got home I looked up the recipe.  There is enough cheese and fat in it to cause a heart attack just looking at it.It’s nice you and your husband walk.  I try to get mine to walk with me, but rarely succeed.
