Wednesday’s Word: Believe
There have been times lately, that I have chatted with Jesus and simply believed, with NO doubt, that certain things would be taken care of. Believing can be such a blessing. I was at one of my favorite places again and as, always, couldn’t resist another shot of the rock on top. I love that rock because it reminds me that it takes faith to believe that it is not going to fall off. Simple as that.

So awesome. So true.
oh my. What a beautiful spot. And that sky!! I love your words as well, Gail.
Love that solid rock…what would we do with out him?
Loved yur post below saying goodbye in your robe…I do that often.
Yes was a stinky, yucky smell. I have so learned the hard way….please lift us up to FatherGod as we both need it while trying to work together…tis not easy (smile).
Hugs
@Mymanyblessings - I’ll absolutely pray for you!!!
@quiet_hearts -I wish you could come visit that spot and enjoy the nearby walking path with me!
@Richgem - I would SO love that. I love to walk.
Love that word and ‘believe’ in it
Good words for today – or any day.
i love the rocks, i love the colors. i love that i can be out in His creation (where i feel closest to Him) and He can speak to me through the things He’s created for me. have a great day–karen
isn’t it wonderful how our Savior take something as simple as a rock to say so much to us? That is one reason I so much enjoy being outside in his created nature, knowing he created it for me, not just wildlife, but for me too, so he can speak to me. Whether its in the whisper of a slow running creek, to the melodious sound of a bird chirping, to the cushiony softness of a tuff of moss beneath my bare feet.
I love that my Savior can get that personal. And speaks to EACH of us if we will only listen.
I believe you have a great favorite place
Love the rock, Gail!
I was living in Grand Rapids 32 years ago and decided to live by faith. I found out it was very, very hard, but I had two immediate big break throughs. It was so strenuous living by faith that I stopped. So now, I can be at the top of my game and be at the bottom the next day. It is still fun living with Jesus, but Grand Rapids was memorable.
@agnophilo - I see you… being so smart.
Hey, if wind and erosion change the scene, we might choose to attribute that to God… maybe you’ve heard it. “It was God’s Will!” is how it goes… an oldie but a goodie. Thankfully God has a personal relationship with each of His children.
Peace,
Hunt
@lifeontheWink - Being out in creation makes me feel more alive, which is why I go often, and I always feel more appreciative of God!
@victoriantomboy - He definitely speaks to me and he IS my Rock!
@slmret - It is fascinating and I’ve seen probably a hundred times!
@ANVRSADDAY - Living by faith gets easier for me as time goes by. Why was G.R. so memorable?
@agnophilo - We’ve had a lot of wind and erosion and a small earthquake or 2 through the years but that rock sits firmly. I do know that if the earth runbles hard enough, it could come down. For now, though, I love that it is there and I can still take pictures of it and people can climb around it. If it comes down, I and my faith in God, will not be crushed. So, NO, I would not “assign a negative value to that”. Faith is never worthless. Not in my life, anyway.
@Richgem - Why?
We were transferred there after 4 years of credit card hell debt free.
I got a raise in pay, transfer bonus, and a promotion.
Rent was 25 percent cheaper.
We found a great church headed for trouble and we helped them get through it in part.
God gave us a great Singles ministry.
The singles surprised everyone on a weekend retreat by doing ‘ foot washing.’ I was shocked. It was the greatest spiritual experience of my life–they started sobbing and confessing sins, repenting, hugging, asking others to forgive them for what they had done to them—the sins confessed was shocking, but of the Spirit.
That is just a few reasons—there were many more.
@Richgem - So if it stays up it reaffirms your faith, and if it doesn’t it’s irrelevant? Sounds arbitrary to me.
@eshunt@revelife - Again, so if it stays up it proves god exists and it it falls down it just proves it more. Arbitrary thinking. I’m interested in understanding reality, not rationalizing pre-existing worldviews. And I see no reason a rock not falling down suggests the existence of yahweh any more than it does zeus or thor.
It’s one thing to impose meaning on something in the sense of “this rock formation made me think of x thing”, and it’s another to say that it proves anything or that god put that rock there for you specifically. Things occur to me when I see things all the time, I find meaning in lots of little things in life. But I don’t assume that means my views are correct or that the creator of the universe is texting me inspiration.
It’s like the bible, people think god is whispering in their ear when they read it and take their own ideas as god’s ideas. Some people read the bible and volunteer at a soup kitchen, other people read the bible and burn crosses on peoples’ lawns. I don’t think either person is receiving messages from god, and I think the world would be a better place if people couldn’t so easily pretend to have divine knowledge and be taken seriously by others.
You guys out there are performing a great job.
