  • Here’s Proof

    DSC_1004edit

Spring is happening in my backyard. I was up close and nearly kissing this busy bee. There were many others and none of them bothered me. I am so happy.

My college kids are driving home, beginning this Friday. WOOHOO. I am SO very happy.

Some people believe that they are not worthy to be loved by God. I understand where that thought comes from. I believe we ARE worthy. Otherwise, why did he send Jesus to die on the cross to pay the price for all of our sins past, present and future? Why does he consider us his children? I could go on and on. I believe he tells me that I am worth it. I am worthy of his love. Worthy to live forever in heaven, because he said I would if I simply believed. He doesn’t want us to live in shame and misery. That’s a heavy old coat that satan wants us to wear. Well, I’m not wearing it, no thank you, because I am free.

  • His love for us is beyond understanding.  Kissing bees is not recommended.

  • i want to share something i wrote last week in my bible study notebook. every once in a while i feel compelled to write out a prayer, this is what i wrote: Lord, i feel so unworthy of all that i have. not the material possessions, but the love, my family, my health, my salvation. you give so much. i don’t deserve. but yet you give. you allow me to be. that is awesome. i love you, me.     its a tough topic.  if it keeps you from coming to Him, then it definately is satan at work.  if it keeps you humble and grateful, then it is a good thing!  it surely shows the difference between how God sees us and how we see ourselves.  very good post.  btw–have a wonderful spring break with your kids!  –karen

  • excellent post……..I always seem to have a problem with feeling unworthy…….probably stems from my childhood but that is another story.   I thank and praise Him daily for all He has given me, not just material things but family, etc   Thanks so much for posting this!    Lin

  • We’re worthy because HE makes us worthy. ;)

I would not enjoy being that close to the bee, but your picture is beautiful! Just the other day one of the boys came running back in from taking the trash out because they saw a wasp. I thought, well, we’re just about into that time of year again!

  • @HUMOR_ME_NOW - At least you do believe you are loved tremendously, right?

  • @ata_grandma - It IS beyond understanding! And don’t worry, I won’t actually kiss a bee unless by accident. Which would mean it landed on my lip.

  • @lifeontheWink - Thank you for sharing that, Karen! I come from a background where unworthiness was preached. I bought the whole unworthy, filthy, undeserving sinner, guilt trip package. In the past few years I’ve had my eyes opened. As believers, we are saints, the bride of Christ, sins forgiven and remembered no more, filled with the Holy Spirit. THAT makes me worthy..worthy of God’s love and promises and pure life that lasts forever. That gives me hope that something great is going to happen after all this mess on earth comes to an end. I don’t want to step on toes here but I would love for everyone to come out of the fog and feel the same joy and hope that I have.   You can be sure I’ll enjoy Spring break with my kids! YeeHaw!!!

  • @oldfatgramma - Those negative things from childhood can affect us for life, can’t they?! I’m working at flushing all that bad junk down the drain and basking in what’s true for now, today. I’m with you, thanking and praising him daily! Many times!

  • @aSeriesofFortunateEvents - Yes, indeed; he makes us worthy!  You won’t see pictures of wasps on here, that’s for sure. They are not my friends in any way whatsoever. I’d be like your son, running inside after seeing one…and those things do like to hang around the trash!

  • @Richgem - I cannot honestly say, ‘Yes.’

  • Have fun with your kids….God Bless your sweet heart

  • Beautiful picture and I can’t wait to see something blooming!  I have the spring fever going on even after more flurries of snow this past weekend.  Thankfully nothing stuck this time around.

  • So glad you are enjoying your lovies for spring!

@HUMOR_ME_NOW - and @Richgem - I was listening to Nick Vujicic (life with out limbs) with Bob the other day, and he told a story about ministering in a slum in India.  He said it was a terrible area, full of pimps, madames, and prostitutes, and much misery.  Nick went into a small hut, the size of a small room, that had one wall full of pagan gods, and through a translator was talking to a very old woman.  She was paralyzed. Her sister came in and started to yell at Nick, and said, “why don’t you ask for your God to heal her if He is real, she hasn’t been able to walk for so many years”. Nick prayed for her, and he said they kind of dragged her across the room, then he said “no, we need to pray more”.  He prayed again, and the woman got up and walked across the room on her own.  The sister started to thank the wall of gods, and Nick told her, “No, it was Jesus who healed her, not those powerless gods”.
The kicker is this…the translator said, “do you know who God just healed?  She is the madame who started this whole area of prostitution and lead thousands into a miserable life”. Makes your head spin.  That is how much God finds us of value.  He will GO AFTER such a sinner, one who has sinned against many, and caused much misery, and He will reach out to that sinner.   We are all unworthy, but through Christ we are made worthy!  This story sure made me think that I should never decide someone isn’t worthy to hear the gospel.

  • @ABAHM - Great story, Jenny and so true. I one walked by a Hell’s Angelist sitting on his mortorcycle because I both feared him and knew he could not be saved. My witnessing partmer shared the Gospel with him and he put his faith in Jesus!! That taught me a big lesson—like the one you are sharing herre.

  • @ABAHM - I love the fact that God still shows that He can and will heal and love anybody! The madame’s transformation is yet more proof of that! I learned as a missionary kid that everyone was worthy to hear the gospel, but then I was given mixed messages by my uber critical parents…. i was not worthy to be loved unconditionally….i would be judged and criticized for the dumbest little things. It’s only been in the past 2 years that I’ve learned that those messages were lies and that I really am truly loved. WE ALL are truly loved.

  • @Richgem - amen my dear!  Love you!

  • haPpy biRthdAy gail!!!! hope you’re having a great day. xo
