That baby Grandboy smiles like he does as if he knows I needed to see it…jUsT like THAT. He is such a Love, nearly angelic. I keep wondering if a little monster will pop out. So far, nothing of the sort resides in him. I hope he is still like that when he’s 19.
Old books are not only fun to look at, they are interesting to read and make a nice thing to photograph. I’m not bored, really, just being quiet and thoughtful, attempting to focus on the good things. Looking at old children’s books make me think that the old days were so innocent. Oh, of course, life may have been nasty and painful to many “back then”, but still.
Recently, a friend gave me beautiful flowers for my birthday and they have proven to be a source of joy! One of the GOOD things that my mother instilled in me as a child was the love of flowers. Intricate beauty, seemingly innocent, approachable, naive.
Outside, we have a beautiful, sunny 72 degree day and I really should be out there pulling weeds that have begun to take over! I’m thankful that it’s only weeds, not anything sinister.
Wishful thinking…to be at the beach today. But it’s 8 hours away. ”Someday”….. Continue to love with each blessed breath.

I love the smell of old books…and I also like to read them.
I’m sure your grandboy will be just as sweet at 19.Your flower is beautiful. and 72 degrees!!! Oh you don’t know how jealous I am.We have had the worst spring..it’s been so cold. We have a fire going right now and granola is baking in the oven. It feels much like fall.I did go to look at plants this morning. I am getting anxious! Hopefully in a couple more weeks.Happy Weekend to you Gail. XxOo
@Elizabethmarie_1 - Maybe your cold Spring is what Winter was supposed to be like! So, maybe you’ll have a loooong, hot Summer! Our 72 is blissful, indeed. Weird weather makes me SO appreciate these very nice days that seem to be less common. I can only imagine how anxious you are to get those plants and have some pretty weather! Hugs back to you! (ew, I just smooshed a big ole ant on the wall next to me. Here come the bugs.)
Good Afternoon, Gail We have had a baby explosin. lol My wife is really loving the great grand children–especially Isabella. She is adorable and seems to be very smart. My grand daughter is a single mom and had another boy. Don’t ask. lol He is cute, but it somehow takes away some of the fun when she does as she does it. lol I love the beach—spent far more time there than my mom ever knew about. lol I was not openly rebellious, just conniving and sneaky.I am not a reader other than Bible and a few Christian books–long sad story why.Hope you have a great weekend.blessingsfrank
That is a super cute boychild … I love books and I love to read right noe I am reading Laura child’s tea shop mysteries she has written several plus you get tea making tips and recipes …just how fun is that
He’s adorable! Love that smile!
I see a Sugar Creek Gang book. We have a couple of those. I can’t tell what the rest of them are. Most childrens’ books are better than adult books, at least the older ones are.
What an adorable grandbaby ! 72 degrees??? It was snowing here today, no sticking but snowing none the less.
he is adorable! the pics are beautiful! also jealous of the 72 degrees –karen
Sweetly simple and lovely.
Precious face, good read, lovely weather what more could one ask for .
what kind of camera do you have?also happy Birthday and mine is May 3rd and hubby said I can get a new camera since mine has been dropped so many times the photos are now blurry. That grandson is so cute! My grandsons’ are 3yrs and just turning 6 months old.
@HUMOR_ME_NOW - Maybe you should write your story about why you only read the Bible and Christian books. My parents are happy when they get to see the Greatgrands. Their 10th one will be born in June. So far, no single parents. That single parent thing would be awfully hard, yet I know some who have been doing a great job of it.
@SisterMae - Oh, those sound like fun books! I do love a mystery!
@Texasjillcarmel - The flower and books pictures I took with my Nikon D80 and my Grandchunk’s picture was with my Nikon D5100. My thoughts are that these are great cameras, but it helps to have nice lenses. I know many people love their Canon cameras, too. I’d say do your research and check out Adorama.com. ( 8
@Richgem - I will try that thanks-anything would be better then the little Canon 3100 I have now since it’s 3yrs old and been dropped so many times by me.
Love his smile! It’s infectious!Old books are so wonderful. There’s something wonderful about holding a book that has material on the cover and not just a plastic surface. There is character and a history richly associated with it that makes you wonder where all the book has been and whose hands have held it, slowly turning the pages. I absolutely love books!Happy Belated birthday, dear friend! Hope it was a wonderful one!
I was just reading about how you can infuse book marks with essential oils to give books a certain smell. It was an interesting article. Just like your pics of the books! The grandbaby is truly an angel. I am a good judge of these things.
@TrentTribe - Ooo-oo-oooo, that’s a GREAT idea! I should do that with my orange essential oil! That will make reading yummy! I do believe you’d be a good judge of those things( angelic looking babies!)!
@SealedbyGrace - I really love how you described how wonderful it is to hold an old book!!! Thank you for the birthday cake!!!
@Richgem - I love orange! I have Wild Orange.
I want to infuse my bookmarks with frankincense and with cinnamon. Here’s the instructions I found, “Put the oils on a small piece of paper, put it in a large zip lock bag with the book mark, and then seal it for 24 hours to infuse the book mark.” Mmmm…. Are you a fellow lover of essential oils?
The caliber of information that you’re offering is merely wonderful.lovequoteslibrary.com
