  • “Honey, Will You Do Me a Favor?”

Of course, he said “Yes”. I needed a photo of myself for a church related something and I knew I couldn’t take it myself. I don’t like the timer or the remote clicker thingy. So, Hubby had to be my photographer. Then I had to do a teeny bit of editing. Just a tad smoothing of a couple of eye wrinkles and the veins on my chin. POOF! Gone! Oh yes, I also touched up my roots because I can’t afford to visit my hair girl for a professional root touch up. Ta-DA, the photo is finished, and hopefully approved by the someones and something that it was required for.  I love being real, genuine, “transparent” (overused word, but it works), however, when it comes to a photo that will be printed up, fixing it all little is not a sin. Besides, they all have seen me “as is”. I just can’t WAIT for that block of goldish yellow to finally grow long enough for me to hack/cut it off.

Now, I realize that this is so terribly trivial in light of all the horrible events in the world around us, but this is just a piece of my little life. Tonight, I’ll be praying myself to sleep. All those big issues will be on my heart and my silly hair will not even enter my thoughts.
How is your week going so far? Has Spring sprung everywhere?

  • You are beautiful my friend

  • you look lovely! is it wednesday already? wow, its a good week so far. i think spring is coming this weekend. hopefully it will stay!–karen

  • That’s a pretty picture of you.  Not much Spring here yet.

  • Such a pretty picture!  Love the post..thanks for being so real :)

  • Hoping yesterday was our last cold day of the season.  It was sleeting when I took Miss Mae to guitar lesson last night.  I am anticipating the weekend temps of 75ish.  Now that is spring.  Still waiting on my lilacs to bloom and hoping the cold yesterday didn’t freeze them.  Garden is tilled and ready to plant, if only we could get past these frosty nights of winter trying to hang on.

  •          You’re so pretty.

I know that feeling of feeling trivial because I’m obsessed with trivial things.  But hey….we’re made that way, don’t you think?   As long as that doesn’t overtake us and become who we are.

My spring is sloooow.  But  it’s coming.

  • You look beautiful. Do you use Photoshop for editing your pictures and putting your signature on them?

  • @SisterMae - Thank you. I hope you’re doing well!

  • @lifeontheWink - I do hope your Spring arrives on the weekend and STAYS!  Yep, Wednesday already!

  • @ata_grandma - Don’t lose heart. Your warm days will come!

  • @buana - Thank you, Jill. It’s important to be real. There’s too much fake and pretend in the world!

  • @zanyzeal - 75ish…”now that is spring”…I aGREE!!! Our nice neighbor (we have nice and we have mean/pretend nice) has lilac bushes that hang over our fence. I love them! They’re very old, too. My garden boxes are ready, but we wait for Mother’s Day weekend to plant. The danger of frost is over by then. Fun times ahead, right?

  • @quiet_hearts - Yes, I DO think we’re made to be trivial. We’re all around interested in both big and small things in life, from insects, to dirt, to what our hair is doing (or not), to humans big and small. ( 8   I love your Spring sunset picture! That’s a great Spring capture!

  • @MadraysGarden - Hi Jan! I actually use both pixlr and picmonkey to do my editing. I use picmonkey for my signature. So, far, I’m happy with how that all works.

  • Good Evening, Gail and thanks for sharing your photo. You are a very beautiful Christian woman and a pleasure to know you in Xanga.

Yes, world news is so grim.  My wife is hoping for the Rapture. She is hoping it is soon, but I am not so sure. lol

Anyway, nice photo and enjoy the rest of the week.

  • You looks lovely! We are supposed to be sending out “updated” photos for our ministry. UGH. I don’t like pictures of myself at all. I always seem to do something unnatural and silly looking in photos.HA. Maybe I look like that all the time and just don’t realize it!

  • Beautiful lady! Love that you’re able to smooth out wrinkles and fix hair on a photo! I would love to be able to do that. I do good just to get a pic taken!

We’ve had a bit of a slow go at spring. It was sleeting the other day! I think it’s supposed to get warmer, but I’m not holding my breath! I’d like to get the flowers and veggies planted before long, but it may have to wait for another half month.

Hope you had a good week and have a terrific weekend!
