  • A First

    DSC_0254 DSC_0194 DSC_0198

The little guy is my fourth Wonder, as in Grand. On Monday, he will be one. But the party was today and I just wanted to post a few shots. He is such a little (BIG) blessing to all of us who know him! His Daddy is my FIRST born and I just wither into sweet emotion when I think of my son at that age, and now HIS second son is one. Time is whipping by and I want to make the most of each moment I get to spend with the people I love, especially these little Ones.Though I don't have the energy and physical flexibility that I had for my own children, I do have alot more patience and understanding for this new bunch. I'm also alot fatter, which accounts for the physical limitations. But after seeing the fat photos of myself taken today, I have decided that this is the first day of the rest of my life and I seriously need to lose the fat and build some muscle. But I need help. No, not advice on what to eat or not eat. I already know that. FIRST of all, I do realize that weekly cinnamon roll consumption will keep adding the weight. So, something has to change there! What I really need is your encouragement. That right there is a First...being so open in expressing my desire to lose weight in front of all of you, or whoever happens to come by here. I might be so bold as to post photos of my progress, but nothing outrageous. Tomorrow, being October 10th is when I will begin with keeping track. I like the number 10. It's a straight 1 and a round zero. Ten. I need to lose a couple of tens. Actually 3 of them to look fabulous. Just to feel great and healthy and energetic will be a new wonderful thing for me. A First, since hmmm, a LONG time ago!

  • He is adorable.  Don't you just love being a grandmother?  They are truly one of His greatest blessings.  As for the 3 10s......you can do all things through Christ!

  • I agree, grandchildren are a huge blessing. It is so much fun watching our children with their children. Blessings on your weight loss.

  • hey girl.... he is adorable and i am so jealous of grandkids ( i just keep praying that there are some in my future).  as to the weight loss... i could lose about 5-10s and i would feel better.  is it our age?  or my lack of thyroid?  or menopause? it is alot of things.  I am liking your 10/10/10 idea.  SO... i am praying for strength and self control for you and ask you do the same for me.  and then maybe i will actually post a pic of me on here.  blessings!!!! melinda

  • What a precious boy!  I commend you on your new goal of losing weight and getting into shape.  Believe me, you will be so thankful.  My mom wishes she could turn back time and that she had never gotten so overweight and lost her health and strength.  Praying for God's strength and help for you!

  • What a wonderful plan to get healthy! And you are so brave to post your intentions.....accountability is such a good thing.  I understand where you are coming from!  It seems that things are all fine and then one day you look up (or see pictures) and realize that maybe it's not as easy to keep things in check as it was "in younger days!"I am right there with you!  Trying not to think of it as "diet" but just what it is -- getting healthy!  When eating healthy becomes an issue...the extra lbs seem to take care of themselves  Prayers and blessings!

it takes courage to do that. and there is already an element of VicToRy in a battle shared.
there's strength in numbers, maybe not on a scales :) but in accountability and encouragement! i am cheering you on!

  • @ABAHM - Awww, Jenny! I am beyond excited that you will have a granchild before you know it. Time flies and soon you'll be snuggling that baby and we all will be looking at photos of you with your gorgeous smile beaming, holding your very own little Wonder!

  • @down_onthefarm - "victory in a battle shared"...I NEEDED that! "strength in numbers"...funny and true! This is definately a battle for me, but I keep picturing myself thinner and believing that God's strength will become REAL to me! Love ya!

  • you go girl you and do this!  It's not easy to share your real self like that but I know how much encouragement helps!
