Big Shot
Here we are again, only this time we have more snow! You can’t tell by this slightly blurry (thanks to however xanga processes photos) shot that this Jeep thinks he’s a Big Shot. I think it’s a he. He used to run around on one of Tex Earnhardt’s ranches. Tex is a rancher and car dealership phenom. His slogan on TV commercials was “That Ain’t No Bull”. He’d say it while sitting on top of a live bull, no doubt feeling like quite the Big Shot. When my dad was younger and into woodworking and advertising sales, he made a few nice items for ole Tex, such as a boot puller doo dad, etc. Dad felt like a Big Shot then, dealing with big, sort of famous Tex. I know people who live to be the Big Shot, the You’re All That, the One Everyone Wants to Be, or so they think. I have NO idea what’s it like to be up there in that very high falutin’ spot. All I know is that I’m content being here where I am with Jesus through me, not needing to be a Big Shot. He IS all I need, gives me all I need, promises the future that I need. Happy Holy Days and Merry Christmas!

Oh my I wouldn’t have the slightest idea what it would be like to be a “Big Shot” lol, but living through Jesus well I have that number oh yeah it’s written in my heart!

a good reminder my dear.
We are still waiting for snow here in the northeast. Usually we have fresh fallings many times over by now..but this year, just one snowstorm prior to the end of October and that’s it. Makes me wonder if it’ll start in January and end in June this time. LOL. I used to wanna be a big shot. Guess for some time we were sort of big shots in the church circles. But, we are no more and it’s actually very nice. Though I miss the days of our front door revolving and the phone ringing off the hook, I’m settled quite nicely into the peace and quiet of the days now. It’s a bit more isolating, but I’ll take it over the other any day.
@Mymanyblessings - You’re so cute!
@mytoesareblue - Just remember, It’s one thing to be a Big Shot and a whole other thing to know how wonderfully special you are!
@MadraysGarden - Weird weather, isn’t it? I’m amazed with all the rain back there! I can relate to settling in to the peace and quiet of not being so busy with church responsibilities. None of that felt like the real life of the rest of the week. I said that to a lady at church one Sunday 2 years ago and she looked at me like she was trying to figure out what I meant. My hubby and I are much more at peace now, listening to God’s nudges instead of a legalistic ministry leader.
Ah, I used to have a white jeep like that when we lived up in the north country. No snow here in central NY yet…..I am very blessed by that but at the same time, not naive enough to think this beautiful weather will stay.
@oldfatgramma - For your sake, I hope it stays! As for the white jeep, what did you end up doing with it? They sure are cute, but ALWAYS need work! JEEP + “Just Empty Every Pocket”
SNOW!!! We usually have snow at this time, but we have none on the ground right now! Snow always makes it feel more like
Christmas, so I am jealous of your snow
.
I have been driving 15 passenger vans for years now, but used to have a jeep (prior to all
the kiddos) and I really miss it. ”Sigh”…maybe one day.
Cactus Jack is a big shot. I feel it is my duty to tell him otherwise, and harass him continuously.
LOVE that shot!
so good gail. so true. happy holy days and merry christmas to you and yours too.
and btw…i’ve been deeply touched by Jesus through you. thank you!!!
I think my man is waiting patiently for some snow so we can try out his TOY in the snow. Loving your jeep picture!!
Yes,” HE is all I need!”
@AbidingontheVine - I think it’s amazing that we got snow before you did! We still have alot left if you’d like me to pack some up and send it to you! As for the Jeep, did you drive it on the highway? NOISy as all get out! Our girl would love to own a navy blue one from the 90s. Cute, but not practical. Somebody told me not safe, either. For putzin’ around town, it’s fine. Maybe someday, you’ll have another jeep. ( :
@WildWomanOfTheWest - That makes me smile!
@down_onthefarm - I love you bunches!
@betheelou - And what would your man’s toy be? A sled? A snowmobile?
@Richgem - He has a 1974 TOY-ota Land-cruiser that he restored. It will be its first time in the snow. When we get some snow that is!!
I used to be a big shot. The fall wasn’t worth the view. I am content to sit on the sidelines and cheer on those who are much better and God-equipped to play and minister. I love being a shadow.
That’s a beautiful jeep! I told my dh I wanted one and wound up with a Pontiac Montana minivan. I got the short end of the stick, I think.
haha! i don’t want to be a high falutin’ big shot either..
i’ll join ya on the lower level. i think there’s better company there!!
love yOU. and merry christmas my dear.
card coming.. who knows when with this postal service. but coming.
