Thanking God, today is where I can just open my nostrils and sniff in the scent of flowers, herbs, my favorite eau de….. the scent of my favorite person in all the world’s neck. There is so much comfort and happiness in these scents that I love. I mourn for those who cannot sniff and smell and enjoy the scent that would put them in a happy place. I like to sometimes think of the Holy Spirit as a scent that far exceeds any on this earth and that someday I will be completely surrounded by and soaked in it.

There is someone that I have loved a long time. I can recognize their laugh in a crowd. I know they are in the room due to their exclusive fragrance. It is wonderful.

I used to smell a faint sort of cigarette smoke in the air at my house. Since no one smoked, I just couldn’t imagine where it would be coming from. Since I found out that my dad, who was a chain smoker for as long as I’ve been alive, passed away two years ago (today as a matter of fact..and how odd is that) I don’t smell it anymore. Could it be he was trying to let me know he passed on?
I caught my hubby sniff my neck when we were dating but he said,”no I didn’t.” but I have heard that if you don’t like it you won’t mate with them so their must be something to it.
I know I would sniff him while we were dating.

@cerwindoris - Thank you, Doris! And yes, sometimes we do!I love the fact that I can open a certain box to look at the costume jewelry that belonged to my aunt and I can still smell her, after not having seen her for 32 years!

@Texasjillcarmel - I love your little anecdote! I’m sure there’s something to be said about the chemistry in the scent of a person and whether that’ll “fit” with the other person! Maybe you should shock the socks off your hubby and sniff his neck again. See what happens.
@Richgem - I feel bad now cause I change his pillowcase and complain that he needs to wash his hair. Well, that’s what happens after 25yrs together.

@VallejoGirl - Thank you! I have been given permission to drop out of the wedding shoot. There is just too much else for me to be concerned with and lose sleep over. I won’t quit photography altogether, though. I’ll shoot when it works for me and what I have to do to take care of my loved ones.
